Phoenix, AZ – April 28th, 2016: Long range precision rifle competitor, Regina Milkovich, earned first place at the 2016 NorCal Tactical Bolt Rifle Challenge, making her the first woman ever to win a Precision Rifle Series Match. Already the reigning top female in tactical precision rifle shooting, Regina bested her recent 2nd place finish at the Rifles Only Bushnell Brawl and beat 74 other shooters at the NorCal Tactical Bolt Rifle Challenge, held at the Sacramento Valley Shooting Center on April 22nd-24th, 2016.

The NorCal Tactical Bolt Rifle Challenge has a history of tough shots and physical challenges and this year’s competition in Sloughhouse, California was no different. The 22 stage match included targets out to 1000 yards and switchy winds fluctuating between 2 mph to 11 mph.

Regina not only finished the match in first place, she also picked up two stage wins—a 425 mover stage that she cleaned in 31 seconds and a 200-yard paper target stage. Regina’s gunsmith Marc Soulie of Spartan Precision Rifles and one of her sponsors had this to say, “We’re so proud of Regina’s accomplishments this last year. We stand behind her because she’s a formidable competitor and her attitude and persistence make her an asset to the sport. We’ll continue to sponsor her as long as she’ll have us.”

When asked how she felt about being the first woman to be a PRS winner, Regina replied, “It feels fantastic! I’ve been working really hard for the last 6 years, and I created the #WinOneIn2016 hashtag to give myself some extra motivation this year. I’m thrilled that I get to retire that hashtag so early in the year and I hope this win serves as an inspiration to all women that compete or would like to start competing.”

The Precision Rifle Series is a rifle sports competition with a championship style point series that includes the finest rifle competitions and shooters in the nation. Regina has been competing in the sport since 2010—two years before the launch of the series. There are currently over 400 members throughout the country competing in the PRS and Regina is currently 6th overall in the open division and climbing.
